How ticket prices are calculated on COSCO Bus
Ticket fares on COSCO Bus vary by route and distance and are set by the bus operator. Every booking also includes a small service charge, shown in full before you pay. This page explains exactly how the total amount at checkout is calculated.
1How the Total Is Calculated
Every booking is made up of two parts:
- Ticket fare — the price of the seat, set by the bus operator for that route.
- Service charge — a 3.5% charge on the ticket fare, covering booking, seat reservation, secure payment processing, and support.
The booking screen shows the fare, service charge, and total before you confirm payment.
2Example Pricing
The table below shows worked examples for a single seat at different fare amounts.

All amounts are in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR). Figures are rounded to the nearest cent.
3Booking Multiple Seats
The service charge is calculated on the combined fare for all seats in a single booking, not per seat. For example, booking 3 seats at LKR 1,000.00 each: fare is LKR 3,000.00, plus a service charge of LKR 105.00, for a total of LKR 3,105.00.
4Payment & Security
Payments are processed securely by our PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway partner, PayHere. We do not store your full card or payment credentials.
